EROS
In 1994, EROS developed the world’s very first silicone-based intimate lubricant. Today, the range covers water-based, silicone, mixed water-silicone, fisting, and organic formulas, as well as sex toy cleaners compatible with most materials.
EROS was born in Germany in the 1990s, at a time when intimate lubricants were beginning to become more specialized.
Its Bodyglide formula, developed in 1994, was one of the first silicone-based lubricants to become widely established in European sex shops. Unlike water-based gels, silicone offers longer-lasting glide and does not dry out as quickly, which strongly shaped EROS’s image in the world of anal sex, intimate massage, and practices requiring long-lasting lubrication.
From this base, EROS developed several variations: silicone lubricants, water-based formulas, hybrid versions, anal ranges, massage products, and intimate care products. The brand remains especially associated with this search for persistent glide, which made Bodyglide one of its historic products.
