DESCRIPTION
Irish 8 belong to a very particular category of restraints. There is no chain, no central hinge and virtually no freedom of movement between the wrists.
The two cuffs form a single rigid figure-8 structure. Once closed, the wrists remain side by side in the position imposed by the geometry of the restraint itself.
ERO Steel manufactures them entirely from solid austenitic stainless steel. The cuffs are approximately 20 mm wide, with carefully rounded and polished edges. Despite their considerable weight, the broad contact surface avoids the harsh feeling associated with the narrow edges found on some metal handcuffs.
The locking mechanism is remarkably direct. Simply press the two sections together until they engage. To release them, insert the key into the lock housing to mechanically disengage the locking mechanism.
This simplicity is part of their appeal. Very few moving components, extremely robust construction and a mechanism that is immediately understandable.

USE
Always choose a size that leaves sufficient room around the wrist. Because of their rigid construction and considerable weight, the Irish 8 transmit movement directly from one wrist to the other and therefore require greater care than handcuffs connected by a chain.
